Same-Sex Marriage, Abortion, Abused Women, Child Abuse, Child Sexual Abuse

3) Potential research topics

Choose five topics that you think are potential research topics for your paper and briefly (in 2 to 5 sentences) explain why these topics are of interest to you.

3) Same-Sex Marriage interests me because I believe it love shouldn't be illegal. If a man and a woman can get married, and that could be seen as perfectly fine I think the same genders should be free to do the same. There are so many aspects that go into same sex marriage that I would like to learn about in depth.

Abortion is an interesting topic to me because I have a strong opinion about how a woman should make that decision on her own, considering it's her body. I feel like this would be a good essay topic and I would have so much to say about it.

Abused Women would be of an interest to me because there are so many women in the world who get abused today. I would love to look deeper into this topic and learn more about the abuser's mind.

Child abuse is of the interesting topics to me because unfortunately, children of many ages have to deal with the abuse they encounter. All though, this is a sad topic to research about I think it would be beneficial tot my knowledge.

Child Sexual Abuse is interesting to me because I know people who have gone through sexual abuse. I would like to research more about how the sexual abuse starts and why. Why do they feel the need to do that to young children or people of any age?

What Ticks You Off

2) What "ticks you off"?

Make a list of four or five things that "tick you off." Explain why. (Choose significant things that others might experience as well. For instance, your little brother might tick you off, but there is little chance that this annoyance will yield a possible paper topic). It is possible that one of these annoyances can be transformed into an interesting, engaging, and researchable project.

What ticks me off is feminism being look down upon. Many people shockingly think that feminism is a "waste of time" because they think women just want feminism so we can make it seem that we're the better gender. However that is not true. There are so many reasons why feminism should be taken seriously and not lightly. A lot of women are unfortunately raped because of what we wear. A lot of women get paid very little as oppose a man just because, well he's a man. Some people have a mindset that men are superior and we should be scared of them, and work in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. However, feminist think both genders should be equal and not think one should get less respect because of their gender. People still use the excuse "Boys will be boys" but why does that matter? Raping women should be taken lightly because "boys will be boys"? Women should get paid little because we're apparently living on this earth to stay home and cook all day, just because of our gender? Wrong. Feminism does NOT mean we're the best gender, it means we want equality and I can't seem to realize why some of those people think otherwise.

Homework part 1

1) If you believe that all students should be Web literate, what is the best strategy for your school to prepare you with this skill? I believe that students should be Web literate and I think the best strategy is to encourage classes in schools about technology and different sources. This will help students to be more prepared and gain knowledge about the web. It's important for students to know what they're doing on the web. Learning about the web can also be a great deal for the future.

2) What skills should all teachers have to be Web literate? They should gain knowledge about the web so they can inform their students. If teachers know what to do, student will incorporate how to be Web literate.

3) What role should school filtering play in your school district? Explain why schools should block or not block Web sites. I don't think schools should block websites such as Facebook or Twitter because I don't see the harm of them. Students can use it on their lunch break and it wouldn't be a problem. There are also some sources that are blocked which don't help the students because what if they need that website for a homework assignment.

4) Do you believe the Internet is as big a transformer of culture as the printing press? Yes, I believe the Internet is a big transformer of culture. The Internet has changed the world and how we interact with people. Now, all we do is go on the Internet and avoid the outside world.

5) If yes, what parts of our culture do you believe will be most affected? Communication has been a big part of this change. Teenagers especially, use the Interact to communicate with people other than interacting face to face. Unlike enjoying the fresh air, we're at home, surrounding ourselves with our phones and computer.

What do you consider interesting?

1) What is the subject I enjoy reading? The subject I most enjoy in school is English. I enjoy English the most because the discussions in class interest me the most and I like knowing that this class can help me improve my writing for the future.

2) What is my favorite hobby? My favorite hobby is dancing. I like to dance because it puts me in a better move. I don't go to any classes for dance but when I dance at home I love it because I am making moves as I go along and I gain confidence while doing so.

3) If I won the lottery what would I use the money for? If I won the lottery I would use it for helping my family needs and my needs. I would like to donate money to an organization for people who are struggling. At the end of the day, if I know I can help my family with anything they need and people who are struggling greatly, it will make me feel like I'm contributing in this world.

4) What type of volunteer activity do I prefer? I prefer helping out in a library because it's not a stressful job and I know I'm capable of following orders and putting books away. Also, because the library is quiet and I will be more collective in a quiet environment.

5) What has always been my favorite subject? My favorite subject has always been English ever since I was in 6th grade. It has always been my favorite subject because I always like showing my writing skills and my ideas I have.

6) What is the first thing I would change if I ran the world? If I ran the world I would change bullying. Both online and face to face. As many know bullying is deadly and will cause the victim to have a problem with him/herself and will impact their life. I would like to change it because everybody goes through something in their life and the last thing someone needs is to be harassed in school or behind a keyboard.
